Guardian Warden

Attack Patterns

Ground Slam — Slow overhead strike with ground ripple. Telegraphed by a low rumble sound 2 seconds before impact. Dodge backward twice.

Charge Rush — Linear charge across the arena. Side-dodge at the last moment for a free counter window.

Seal Beam — Fires a slow-moving energy projectile. Parry it with Flash Counter for a guaranteed stagger.

⚔️ Strategy: This is a tutorial boss designed to teach you the 2D→3D combat transition. It has long recovery windows after every attack — use these to practice your □+△ combo chains. At 50% HP, Rei automatically activates his first Soul Acceleration as a scripted tutorial event. Don't waste healing items; you can't die here.

📍 Chapter 2 — Layer 2Fire🎯 Weak: Water

Attack Patterns

Flame Sweep — 180° horizontal fire slash. Covers nearly the entire front arc. Dodge BACKWARD, not sideways — the hitbox extends wider than the visual.

Hellfire Pillar — Summons three flame columns that erupt sequentially. Watch the ground glow pattern: middle → left → right. Walk between them.

Oni Roar — Enrage trigger at 40% HP. Grants attack buff and unlocks a new attack: Inferno Charge (homing rush with fire trail, must sprint perpendicular to avoid).

Inferno Charge — Post-enrage only. The Oni General locks onto your position and charges with a flame trail. Sprint at a 90° angle to dodge; dodging backward will get you hit.

⚔️ Strategy: Equip Water Talismans before entering the boss room. The Oni General's pre-enrage phase is straightforward — bait Flame Sweep, dodge backward, counter with a full □+△ combo. At enrage (40% HP), activate Soul Acceleration for the damage immunity window and burn your Secret Combo. If you don't have Soul Accel available, play ultra-conservatively during Inferno Charge sequences — the flame trail deals damage over time and can quickly drain your HP.
Recommended Party

Rei + Chinatsu (if recruited). Chinatsu's fire resistance helps, but keep her at range.

📍 Chapter 3 — Layer 3Earth🎯 Weak: Wind

Attack Patterns

Phase 1 (100%-60% HP):

• Arm Cannon — Long-range projectile barrage. Block or side-dodge. Three shots, slight tracking on the third.

• Stomp Wave — AoE shockwave radiating outward. Jump over it (timing: jump when the foot hits the ground).

• Grab — Close-range grab attempt. If caught, mash buttons to break free faster and reduce damage.

Phase 2 (60%-30% HP):

• Automata Summon — Spawns 4 Automata Knights. These adds are tanky and will overwhelm you if ignored. Switch to Chinatsu and use her Fire AoE to clear them in 2-3 combos.

• Enhanced Arm Cannon — Now fires 5 shots with aggressive tracking. Sprint perpendicular to the boss, not toward/away.

Phase 3 (30%-0% HP):

• Arena Laser — Massive sweeping laser that covers 70% of the arena. Hide behind the stone pillars that appear at the edges. The laser destroys pillars after 2 sweeps — you have roughly 40 seconds to finish the fight.

⚔️ Strategy: This is the first real skill check. Phase 1: standard dodge-and-punish with Wind Talismans equipped. Phase 2: IMMEDIATELY switch to Chinatsu when adds spawn. Use her Secret Combo (秘連撃) to clear all four Automata Knights in one cast — this is the most SP-efficient approach. Phase 3: position near a pillar, burst during laser charge-up, then hide. If Fuka is recruited, activate her Soul Acceleration before the laser phase for party-wide damage reduction. Rei's Hi-Rengki (秘連撃) should be saved for the final 15% HP push.

Rei (DPS), Chinatsu (add clear), Fuka (buff/heal). If Fuka not yet recruited, bring extra healing items.

📍 Chapter 4 — Layer 4Water🎯 Weak: Wind

Attack Patterns

Tidal Wave — Arena-wide water sweep. The only safe zone is directly behind the boss. Sprint behind it when you see water gathering at the edges.

Whirlpool — Creates a vortex at the arena center that pulls you in. Contact with the center deals massive damage (~70% HP). Stay at arena edges and keep moving.

Freeze Breath — Cone-shaped ice attack. Inflicts Freeze status (can't move, take increased damage). Bring status-cure items or equip anti-freeze accessories.

Submerge — The boss dives underwater and becomes untargetable. Two Water Serpent adds spawn during this phase. Kill them quickly; the boss resurfaces after both are dead or 30 seconds pass.

Enrage (25% HP) — Whirlpool becomes permanent and Tidal Wave frequency doubles. This is a soft DPS check — you have limited time before the arena becomes unmanageable.

⚔️ Strategy: Equip Wind Talismans on all party members. The key to this fight is positioning — always know where the arena center is and stay near the edges during Whirlpool phases. Flash Counter is extremely effective against Tidal Wave (the timing window is generous). When the boss submerges, switch to Rurui — her ranged pistols can hit the Water Serpents from a safe distance while avoiding the boss's underwater hitbox. Save Soul Acceleration for the enrage phase at 25% — the damage immunity lets you ignore the permanent whirlpool briefly and finish the fight.

Rei (DPS), Rurui (ranged/speed), Fuka (heal/cure). Fuka is nearly mandatory for Freeze curing.

📍 Chapter 5 — Layer 5Variable (cycles Fire→Water→Wind→Light every 90s)🎯 Weak: Match the current element (opposite on the counter wheel)

Attack Patterns

Phase 1 — Elemental Cycle (100%-60% HP):

• Rotates through all four elements in a fixed 90-second cycle. Attack patterns change with element: Fire = Flame Sweep + Hellfire Pillar, Water = Tidal Wave + Freeze Breath, Wind = Tornado Chase + Razor Wind, Light = Homing Orbs + Flash Blind.

• The boss is ONLY vulnerable to the counter-element of its current form. Attacking with any other element deals 0.3x damage. You MUST swap Talismans mid-fight or switch characters with matching elements.

Phase 2 — DPS Check (60%-25% HP):

• Element rotation accelerates to every 45 seconds. Boss gains a stacking damage buff that increases by 5% every 15 seconds — this is a soft enrage.

• Elite add spawns at 45% HP: one Eclipse Guardian. Kill it immediately — it heals the boss if left alive.

Phase 3 — Bond Resonance (25%-0% HP):

• Narrative phase. Rei's bonds with party members determine bonus effects: each maxed NPC story adds 10% damage and 5% damage reduction.

• Boss unleashes a scripted 'Judgment' attack at 10% HP — unavoidable, deals 80% of max HP. Heal to full before this triggers (watch for the boss raising both hands to the sky).

⚔️ Strategy: This fight demands preparation. Before entering: ensure all four party members have at least one Level 3+ Talisman covering different elements, stock 10+ healing items, and max out Fuka's Support Skill Boost node. Phase 1: use R2 lock-on shots to identify the current element, then swap to the matching counter-element character. Don't greed for damage during element transitions — the 2-second window between forms is safe for repositioning. Phase 2: the Overdrive Chain becomes essential. Build sequence: Fuka Soul Accel → Fuka Secret Combo → Chinatsu Secret Combo → Rei Hi-Rengki (秘連撃) → Rurui Secret Combo. This rotation, executed properly, deletes ~40% of the boss's HP in one chain. Phase 3: if you've maxed 15+ NPC stories, you'll have enough bonus damage to finish comfortably. Save at least one full-party heal for the Judgment attack at 10%.

Corrupted Samurai

Layer 2

Weak: Light

First elite that drops Shikirei Talismans. Tanky but slow — Flash Counter window is very forgiving.

Phase Spider

Layer 3

Weak: Fire

Teleports behind you after every 3 attacks. Turn around immediately or use Rurui's ranged shots to track it.

Abyssal Knight

Layer 4

Weak: Lightning/Wind

Heavy armor requires guard break. Use charged □ attacks (hold □ for 1.5s) to crack its shield.

Eclipse Guardian

Layer 5

Weak: Variable

Appears as adds during the final boss fight and in the elite gauntlet. Kill on sight — they heal nearby enemies.

🛡️ Combat System Quick Reference

Flash Counter(一闪)

Press L1 at moment of impact. Negates damage, staggers enemy, grants attack buff. Learning boss Flash Counter timings is the single biggest DPS increase in the game.

Soul Acceleration(灵魂加速)

Temporary invincibility + damage buff + SP regen. Save for boss enrage phases. Fuka's variant extends party buffs when combined with Support Skill Boost.

Overdrive Chain

Chain multiple Secret Combos in succession. Build sequence: buffer Accel → buffer combo → DPS combo → DPS combo → Rei finisher. Deletes most boss phases.
